Rigging Physics I

Prerequisite: Operational rope skills, or permission of ATS
Course Description: This course is designed to give the participant a working base of knowledge in those misunderstood areas of force multipliers and rigging physics that are applicable to modern efficient rope rescue. Included in this course are interactive, hands-on classroom presentations, with the main focus on field application of friction coefficients, tension & compression, fall factors/impact force, and resultant forces.
Location:
This course takes place at our training facility in Sisters, Oregon - The Rigging Lab. This location is conveniently serviced by four commercial airports.
Instructors:
We have recruited the best instructors in the industry and brought them together to offer up-to-date industry accepted training.
Itinerary:
This course is an intensive schedule mixing classroom and many hours of in-harness time. Participants are expanded to be on-site for 8-10 hours each day.
Certification:
This course includes an ATS Certification that is valid for a two year period. Participants are encouraged to re-take the full course every 24-36 months to refresh on existing skills and learn new techniques.
Included:
This course includes the use of all technical gear as well as a discount on future gear purchases for a 6 month period from Rescue Response Gear. This course also includes lunch on each course day.
Not Included:
The course tuition does not cover travel to the course location, accommodations (discounted hotels are nearby), or breakfast/dinner.
